
Team Member: Pro Shop Attendant
Department: Golf Operations
Reports to: Golf Operations Manager and or Golf Operations Assistant Manager
Works With: Pro Shop Attendants, Golf Operations Team, Canteen Attendant(s), Beverage Cart Attendant(s), 1st Tee Starter, Course Ambassador
While this outline attempts to be all encompassing, this position is expected to evolve beyond these categories. This role is expected to anticipate customer needs and make suggestions for improvement of the day-to-day operation on an ongoing basis. The role is expected to do anything and everything that will help the golf department accomplish its objectives.
GENERAL PURPOSE: The Proshop Attendant offers superior customer service while greeting guests in the Proshop and ensuring the best possible on course experience by frequently communicating with all Golf Operations support staff. This position will also be responsible for selling and advising on merchandise, assisting management in merchandising, inventory control, taking accurate reservations and special events preparation. This position is a main customer contact point so being up to date on resort events and amenities is essential.

- To have a thorough understanding of our department’s minimum standards for service and be a positive contact point in the guest experience.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Performs opening and closing procedures for the pro shop.
- Responsible for the accountability of all sales and money transactions made.
- Collects applicable fees from members, guests and staff as they arrive.
- Coordinate the guest experience by frequently communicating with the other team members such as the front desk, starter, guest ambassador, outside services and the beverage cart attendant.
- Makes reservations (tee-times, tournaments, etc.) and assists members and guests on the phone.
- Assists members and guests by selling merchandise and providing information in a professional manner.
- Remain in constant communication with the 1st Tee Starter and Player Assistant to ensure that groups are checking in and players have arrived.
- Assists with rotating stock and keeping displays clean and orderly.
- Assists with general cleaning of the pro shop.
- Maintains accurate records of golfers renting clubs using the Club Rental policy.
- Assist with creating appealing displays.
- Assists with periodic physical inventories. May work with guest services and player assistants to facilitate orderly start and play on the golf course.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Responsible for accurate data collection on the tee sheet which would include contact information, group size and check in status.
- Performs other duties as required.
COMPLETION OF SHIFT DUTIES:
- Cash out is accurately completed and submitted.
- Check with the MOD to see if you can leave the course.
- After the golf course has been checked, confirm that all necessary duties are complete with the MOD.
- Return radio to charger along with all extra supplies.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequently stands and uses hands; reaches with hands and arms, talks, or hears. Occasionally walks, sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches. Regularly lifts to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts to 50 pounds.
ENVIRONMENT/NOISE: Frequently works indoors but occasionally outdoors.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES: Responsible Beverage Training Certification & First Aid.

- Accurate tee sheet reporting that would include check ins, no shows and appropriate pricing.
- Positive survey comments as this position is a high volume customer contact point.
- Accurate cash out reports that are balanced.
